Yellow Card Trouble

hello all, I am also traveling to Bolivia for the first time from Cusco Peru. I have a Bolivian visa, but I don't have a yellow card. I was wondering if anyone has FIRST hand experience in this matter. I really don't want to have to pay anymore money with this trip and was wondering if I have to have it. I have contacted the Bolivian consulate, Aerosur, and my hostel in La Paz and they are all telling me that I don't have to have a yellow card when traveling from Peru. Could anyone out there please help me for my trip is near.
