Pueblo Chico Cafe Restaurant in Sucre: Cute but Inattentive

(Sucre, Bolivia)

We had planned to eat lunch at Pueblo Chico Cafe Restaurant in Sucre, also known as an art café or art gallery and did in fact sit down at their very cool inner patio tables. The waitress even brought us a menu. And then she disappeared and never came back.

Despite our attempts to get her attention, she never again even looked our way. Now I have a thing about bad service so I wasn't about to get up and go find her. After 20 minutes of waiting, we simply left the menus on the table and walked out. This isn't to say the food is bad too, just that we never had the chance to find out.

From what we could see the hall and inner patio are very interesting with different types of original art hung on the walls. In fact, it's also known as a "coffee art and bar restaurant". I liked the hand painted designs on the wall. Actually, Pueblo Chico Cafe Restaurant is supremely well situated, right on the main plaza in Sucre and from what I could see it attracts mostly foreigners. The restaurant was filled with backpackers, and not one Bolivian.

I was very disappointed. I love art and I was enjoying the atmosphere.

Pueblo Chico offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, appetizers and coffee fusions. (We don't even know what that is. It's one of the reasons we wanted to try the place). If you get a chance to try it some day, stop by and let us know how it went by posting your own review below.
