Bolivian Nationality is not lost for living outside the country. However you need to have updated bolivian documents (Carnet de identidad, passport, then you can enter bolivia with no Visa.
Since obtain updated bolivian documents outuside´s bolivia is complicated, it is better enter bolivia on a american passport, get tourist visa upon arrival and renew your documents in Bolivia.

by: Geddy

If your passport shows your birthplace as Bolivia, then you won't need a Visa. My wife is in the same situation, and wasn't given a visa at the airport.
