Head and Shoulders

Me with the Prekindergartners about to present their English song to the rest of the school

I volunteered in Bolivia for 2 months in late 2008. I was working at a school teaching English to students ranging from pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 and even some women learning to become Nuns.

The most precious moment was learning from a parent of one of the pre-kindergartners (four years of age and spoke no English)that she had been going home every day and telling her mom what she learned and singing for her "Head and Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" in English. Then the next week the little girl performed it all by herself for the Principle of the School. I was so proud!

I highly recommend volunteering in Bolivia. I volunteered in Santa Cruz, which was a wonderful city full of friendly people. I will never forget my time there.
