Charisma Bolivia: Be Unusual... It's OK!

Because all Charisma jewelry is handmade and one-of-a-kind, when I'm designing a piece I purposely search for stones that are unique and unusual, like the gray wave jasper necklace pictured above. I was drawn not only to the beautiful shades and swirls of gray, but also the tubular cut.


I tend to design "backward" and by this I mean, that rather than designing a piece and then searching for the materials to create it, I shop for the most beautiful and unusual stones I can find first. Then I sit down and stare at them for a while, visualizing what I might do with them. I read up on their structure, how they were formed geologically, and what types of myths and legends or other beliefs might be associated with them. Then I lay them out and begin to design.

We spend quality time together and get to know each other, these stones and I... before they become a part of a completed piece of jewelry that you might wear. It's part of the process of ensuring that no one else will ever have the same piece you purchase because, after all, you are matchless and unique and unusual... and unusual... that's beyoutiful. Shouldn't your jewelry reflect who you are?
