Buying land around Isla Del Sol on Lake Titicaca

I am British and my wife is Bolivian. I am looking into the possibility of opening a hotel/hostel/retreat around lake Titicaca. I wonder if anyone has any experience with buying land around the area? I can't find anything on the island, perhaps it is only indigenous people allowed to own land here? Anyway, I'd appreciate any help. Thanks, James.

Buying land on Island of the Sun, Lake Titicaca

There is a hotel on Island of the Sun in Lake Titicaca. It is owned by Crillon Tours. Their website is www.titicaca.com They also own a hotel in Huatajata and the hydrofoil ferries that cross the lake to the island. They may be able to answer your questions.
