US Embassy Travel Assistance and Quarantine Measures in Bolivia 27 March 2020

Health Alert: U.S. Embassy La Paz, Bolivia, March 27, 2020. Location: Bolivia. Event: Travel Assistance and Quarantine Measures in Bolivia. The U.S. Embassy remains active in assisting U.S. citizens and U.S. Legal Permanent Residents (LPR), in compliance with Bolivian travel restrictions, who wish to return home. Citizens and LPRs can email ConsularLaPazACS@State.gov to request assistance.

Travelers already working with Tropical Tours on reservation and payment for the repatriation flight departing on March 28, 2020 should continue to work with Tropical Tours via online@tt.com.bo and remain attentive to their email for guidance on transit to the airport the day of the flight.

On March 25, 2020, the Bolivian government announced an extension of quarantine measures in Bolivia through April 15.

All persons are to remain in their homes 24 hours a day with an exception made for emergencies.

Health services will remain available 24 hours per day and pharmacies will continue their regular hours.

Police and armed forces remain active.

Food and basic provisions will continue to be transported around the country.

Grocery stores, markets, and banks will be open from 8:00 am until noon each day.

One person between the ages of 18 and 65 per family is authorized to leave their residence to buy food and basic necessities according to the schedule below:
Mondays: persons with national ID number ending in 1 or 2
Tuesdays: persons with national ID number ending in 3 or 4
Wednesdays: persons with national ID number ending in 5 or 6
Thursdays: persons with national ID number ending in 7 or 8
Fridays: persons with national ID number ending in 9 or 0
Stores will remain closed and people should remain at home on Saturdays and Sundays.
