Who submitted this. I can't believe that someone would have placed Bolivar at the wrong time and place.

Bolivia WAS named after Simon Bolivar (who was originally from Venezuela, and was not Bolivian). Simon Bolivar was instrumental in helping several of today's Latin American countries gain their independence from Spain.

However, the Spanish American War took place between April and December of 1898 when the UNITED STATES declared war on Spain.

Bolivia gained and declared her independence from Spain on 6 August 1825 during the Hispanic American Wars for Independence.
