Martin (Moises, Moishe) Heinfling is an American of Bolivian descent. He arrived in La Paz at the age of 2 with his parents, who were Polish-Jewish Holocaust Survivors. He attended the Colegio Boliviano Israelita. He came to America in 1961 and, in 1974, founded a clothing company which evolved into the famous Sergio Valente group of companies. He is a two-time Tony Award winner for the musical "La Cage Aux Folles" and the comedy "I'm Not Rapaport". He also won the Circle Critics Award. He is the author of the book "Washed Out," which was published in 2019. In the 1980's he was chairman of the New York Society for Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Jerusalem. In 1986, he sold his company and retired to Miami. From 2001 to 2015, he lived in Shanghai, China, and now lives in New York. He is divorced and has 4 children and 10 grandchildren.
