Time Sentisive, but I want to see everything of Bolivia!

Hello all, I will be traveling to Bolivia around the last week of January for about 6 days. The places I want to see are Salar de Uyuni, Potosi silver mine, and La Paz. I was wondering if this was doable in a matter of 6 days, or should I extend the days? However, time is really sensitive, as I have to return home for the semester. Thank you in advance!

Whilst it is possible to do a day trip into the Salar from Uyuni it is really not satisfactory. Most worthwhile tours are 3 days and 2 nights. It is possible to travel overnight from La Paz to Uyuni by bus and train or just bus and arrive in time to start a tour on that day and there are now some early morning flights (flights tend to get booked up). The bus journey from Uyuni to Potosi is around 6 hours and very beautiful. So, in theory, just about possible but Bolivia is not a country that works like clockwise and strikes and road blocks and other delays are common. A reputable agency like Kanoo Tours in La Paz can arrange most of this trip for you.

6 days in Bolivia

Im very sorry but you will not be able to see everything in Bolivia in 6 days but its a start. If you only have six days and you wish to visit Potosi, LaPaz and Solar de Uyuni I will suggest the following. I would suggest 2 days at Solar de Uyuni and one day in Potosi seeing the mines..consider the other 3 days in LaPaz, near Lapaz you should visit Lake Titicaca and Copacabana for one day...if you can extend your stay it is advisable so you can enjoy this area as it has so much to offer....you will be disappointed with just a 6 day tour. Best Regards Jeff
