We didn't actually get a chance to eat at Damasco Restaurant in Sucre, Bolivia, but we do want you to know about it. We ran into it at about 4 p.m. (too early to eat) but we went in to check it out for you anyways. As you can see, there were people enjoying lunchner (dinnunch?) at that time.


Damasco offers fast-food type items such as burgers, chicken nuggets, and ice cream, plus some Bolivian foods and house specialties, and they have a children's menu. There is a large outdoor patio area and it does look like it would be a comfortable place to eat, especially if you are traveling with kids.

We did get a chance to eat at Damasco and thought it was terrific. We sat outside, but there is an enclosed area with a playground enclosed inside it, making it easy for parents to keep track of what the kids are up to (and also keeping the noise level down). There was also a sushi menu. The remodeling of this one-time ceramics factory is marvelous to behold. The couple who run it are friendly and welcoming, as is the staff generally. It's a big restaurant so it's unlikely you'll ever have to wait for a table.
