Tastes like chicken

Yes, they eat guinea pig in Bolivia. It is very high in protein and low in fat. They are not the little guinea pigs that are kept as pets in North America. The Bolivian guinea pigs are approximately 16 inches long. If you have the opportunity to try it I would say go for it. Don't get turned off by their little feet and claws.

Guinea pig is a delicacy in Ecuador
by: Anonymous

I've never seen guinea pigs eaten in Bolivia, however it is entirely possible that someone, somewhere in Bolivia enjoys them.

Ecuador is where guinea pigs are eaten on a very common basis. They are available in almost every major city and in many restaurants. They're quite good and are eaten almost as often (or more often) than other types of meat.

I supposed some people might consider eating beef, chicken, fish or pork gross too. In Bolivia we eat llama, alligator, snake, armadillo and other types of meats you might also consider unusual, but normally you'd have to actually taste something to know whether it is gross or not.
