Aqualand is the first water park in Bolivia. Located near the Viru Viru Airport in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, it's open from September to May of each year (closed June, July and August - our winter time). During the summer months the tropical heat makes this refreshment a necessity!
The park has an enormous wave pool with artificial swell, several smaller pools and water game areas, an arcade, snack areas and restaurants, and even a small petting zoo. There is plenty of parking and lots of space to spread out a picnic. It accommodates up to 5000 people per day.
The park gets very full on the hottest days and on weekends and there are often long lines for the water slides. Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, and lots and lots of sunblock because the sun can be absolutely brutal and you'll spend a lot of time getting in and out of the water.
Its main attractions include a huge wave pool (5 million liters of water and 21 programmed wave sequences), a slow river ride, short family rafting area, a Bullet Flume speed slide, a Jetstream speed slide, a series of slides for small children, and a triple Superflume slide, most made by an amusement ride manufacturer from Canada. Over the years the park has aged a bit.

This fun guy filmed his most recent trip to Aqualand (March 2019) and you'll get a step-by-step and close up look at all of the facilities. He gives an honest review of the park, slides and buildings, pointing out that one of the flumes was closed, the park is a bit aged, and the wave pool stopped making waves but he still had fun.
