Where can I take painting classes in Santa Cruz, Bolivia?

by jackie
(santa cruz, bolivia)

MY friend and I are living in bolivia for about a year and would love to take some painting classes (something I've always wanted to do and now have time for). Any ideas of who we should contact?

Occasional painting classes

Acrilex sometimes has classes. There is this little Acrilex store in 7 Calles on the corner of Isabel la Católica, just past the market. You can ask there and they tend to know who is giving classes and where.

Casa Color (across the street from the big Hipermaxi grocery store) on Avenida Banzer and the 3rd ring regularly holds different types of painting classes that last from just a few days to several weeks. Different techniques and media are used. They charge for the class and in addition you have to pay for the materials.

La Casa de Cultura in La Guardia
frequently offers painting classes.
The cost is 30Bs./month.
I know they have evening classes, but maybe they offer classes in the day and afternoon as well.

Coming from Santa Cruz, the Casa de Cultura is on the left side of the Doble Via La Guardia,
on a corner.
It´s a white, Camba-style building, with wide stairs in front of it, situated across the Dob. Via La Guardia from the police station.

You can get there by car or by taking the
SCZ-La Guardia micro or the micros that go to
El Torno or Angostura --- just get off in downtown La Guardia, before the market.
