visa for thai citizen?

Hello, I am a thai citizien, at the moment in Brazil. End of April i want to make a holiday in Bolivia (3 weeks). Do I need to get a visa in advance at the embassy in Brasilia or a consulate? Or can I get it on arrival.

There are different informations, so I am a bit confused.

The visa requirements vary depending on what country you are from. Because they are established based on the international treaties that Bolivia has with different countries, and these are not all the same.

Therefore, what may work for an American or German or Japanese person, for example, may not work for you. That's why you need to know what visa GROUP you are in first.

Thailand is apparently in Group 2 - people who DO need a tourist visa but DON'T need to get it before hand. You can get it at the border (according to the government website here):

You can get a tourist visa once you arrive in Bolivia but you should have ALL of your paperwork ready with correct payment in perfect clean bills ($135.00). You can print out the application from the Bolivian Consulate website and all of the requirements are listed there as well.

My family of 6 visited Bolivia in '09 and this is what we did. It took about an hour for them to process (but, for 1 would take less I'm sure). We now live in Bolivia and the process for obtaining a objeto determinado visa took us several months and had to be done before entering the country. Requirements change frequently.
