Ten easy steps to adjust to a new culture anywhere

You Only Need Ten Easy Steps To Adjust To A New Culture After Relocating
Are You an:
- An Expatriate, Moving Overseas for work?
- a Manager, VP, etc. relocating domestically?
- a spouse, "along for the ride", following your loved one because of their job?
- just plain getting away from a person or place you don't want to be around anymore?
I've been in your shoes! Over the past 25 years, I've lived, worked and studied in 4 countries and 2 states in the US, and traveled extensively throughout the world. You know what's worse than packing and unpacking? Arriving in a new country where you don't speak the language well, or, even more scary, going to a country where they supposedly DO speak the same language and learning it's actually completely foreign to you! (Fact - Culture Shock can happen within the same country!)
You Need More Than Culture Shock Preparation to Adjust to a New Place! I've been fortunate to work with many expats, and gotten to know their spouses, and help them overcome shyness, loneliness and overwhelm with a core set of strategies and resources that work time and time again.
The best time to start learning these strategies is several months before you leave. If you can begin using these strategies each week, then you'll pave the way for yourself to arrive in a new place with a lot less overwhelm, and a lot more resources at your fingertips. However, even if you've already relocated, these same strategies can help you get out of a rut, or help you overcome loneliness, frustration and isolation.
