Santa Cruz Videos: 50 Years of Growth

Santa Cruz City   Santa Cruz State   Santa Cruz Forum   Tourism   Plan Your Trip

The following Santa Cruz videos show what the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra looked like just a few decades ago. Now Bolivia's largest and fastest growing city, Santa Cruz de la Sierra (capital city of the department of Santa Cruz) has experienced phenomenal growth, especially since the 1990's. The department of Santa Cruz itself has become the economic engine of Bolivia.

In celebration of the 200th Bicentennial of Santa Cruz' first attempt at freedom from Spain, we perused the internet for these Santa Cruz videos so you can have the chance to enjoy seeing how this dynamic, creative and enterprising department when from tiny town to trendsetter.

Many of these videos contain antique photographs of Santa Cruz and are in black and white. As you watch remember, this is just 50 years ago. Read more about the history of Santa Cruz de la Sierra here. Below you can see videos of Santa Cruz today.
