The Espinozas are about the nicest people you could ever meet. They're also the owners of the apartment I live in (here in Santa Cruz). Don Jorge and Señora Martha have decided to sell their beautiful quinta, retire and move into town. Oops! Since they'll be moving into the apartment I now occupy - guess who's currently doing some major HOUSE HUNTING!!!!
The Quinta is located at Kilometer 17.5 on the "Doble Vía a La Guardia" highway. It's the same highway you take if you drive to Samaipata or Espejillos. However, La Guardia is just minutes from downtown Santa Cruz. Click on these links to view the area.
The quinta covers a 4-hectare area and includes a large 4-bedroom house with private baths, air conditioning, an ample kitchen and hall, living and dining room, laundry area and a garage large enough for several vehicles.
This property also has a separate 2-bedroom guest house with a private bath, kitchen and ample living space.
In addition, there is a double greenhouse, several other facilites, 2 water wells (each 130 meters deep), storage sheds, living quarters for employees, and others.
Finally, it has a 90m2 cabana with a jatata (dried palm frond) roof and another with a full grilling area and outdoor oven (known as a churrasquera) with its own seating area. The quinta also has a lovely pool and picnic areas, and beautiful outdoor fountain.
Families with children might be interested to know that it's just a short drive down the same highway from the Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center and Trinity Church, the only English-language interdenominational church in Santa Cruz. It's also located about 15 minutes from the American Cooperative School (located in the posh neighborhood of Las Palmas). These are two of the best English language private schools in Santa Cruz.
The short distance from Santa Cruz along this 4-lane highway makes trips to the city for shopping or dining out easy and convenient. There are also several very large supermarkets and major gas stations just down the road.
