Process and cost of buying land in Bolivia

I am planning on buying a piece of land in an "urbanizacion" in Bolivia, but I am having a hard time finding explanations of the legal process and the fees, such as "derechos reales". I would be very thankful if somebody can give me a guide.

Buying land in Bolivia

Buying land in Bolivia. If you identify a piece of land or a house, first you need to see documents of the land, check if there´s mortgage on the land, "Derechos Reales" certificates, Taxes, and off course if this land belongs to the person who is offering it to you.

About taxes, basically you will pay 3% of the property value. And also s 5 per thousand of the property value in Derechos Reales.

Besides that payment, consider at least 1.000 bolivianos to put the documentation in your name (such us maps, certificates, notarized paper, and other expenses).
