News Video - Cochabamba Isolated by Road Blocks

10 May 2012. Cochabamba has been isolated from the rest of the country due to road blocks along all main routes into and out of the city, and blockades along many of the city streets as well, by members of the COB labor unions who are staging a 72-hour protest in demand of a higher minimum wage.

"The government, which was once a populist government, has turned its back now. Apparently they are no longer interested in us. So the only thing we can do is block roads, go out into the streets, and protests." says the second man interviewed in the news video above.

Hundreds of buses and trucks throughout the country are stuck on major highways, and must wait for roadblocks to be lifted. Passengers are being forced to carry their luggage and cross the blockades on foot in search of alternative transportation.
