News Video - Blockades and Protests in Oruro and Tarija

10 May 2012. On the second day of nationwide labor union protests in Bolivia, workers blocked roads in Oruro with rocks, branches and used tires. Some staged sit-ins to block city streets to ensure cars couldn't pass.

In Tarija, in Southern Bolivia, all four roads into the city were blocked as well. Protesters here set tires on fire, effectively paralyzing traffic within and to the city. This is the second day of a 72-hour nationwide protest by labor unions in demand of a higher minimum wage.
