El Lago Titicaca es el segundo más grande del planeta y el lago navegable mas alto del mundo, con una superficie de 8562 Km2. Bolivia tiene menos de la mitad. El resto le pertenece al Perú.

Lago Titicaca Bolivia

Este lago tiene dos lados el norte y el sur. El lado norte se encuentra el denominado Lago Mayor o Chucuito su mayor profundidad en esta parte llega a 283 metros. El lado sur conocido como el Lago Menor o Huiñamarca con tan solo 45 metros de profundidad.

El lago en general esta a una altura de 3810 metros sobre el nivel del mar. La agua de este lago por lo general es transparente y azules con una calidad de luz excepcional. El clima aquí es de gran variaciones, de día alcanza los 25 C centígrados y por las noches casi siempre es frio. El agua de este lago son un poco salada.

Lake Titicaca is the second largest lake on the planet and the highest navigable lake in the world with a surface area of 8562 square kilometers. Just under half of it lies in Bolivia and the remainder is part of Peru.

The lake has been divided into a North side and South side. The North side is called Lago Mayor (larger lake) or Chucuito and is 283 meters deep at its greatest depth. The southern side is known as Lago Menor (smaller lake) or Huiñamarca and only reaches 45 meters in depth. In general the lake is located at a height of 3810 meters above sea level. The water is usually transparent and blue with an exceptional light quality. The climate here varies greatly. During the day temperatures reach 25ºC and at night it is almost always very cold. The water is slightly salty.
