Jesuit Missions Site Map     I've posted this Jesuit Missions site map as a way to make it easier for you to find information within BoliviaBella's section on the Jesuit Missions of Chiquitos. I worked really hard to find as much information as I could and as a result this section on the Jesuit Missions has grown to contain nearly 40 pages. The CHIQUITANIA is an immense region covering a great part of the Department of Santa Cruz that is inhabited by the Chiquitano peoples. The Jesuits did not build missions and temples in all of the Chiquitano towns. This section will occasionally contain information on some towns that are not part of the Jesuit Mission circuit or tour because they are nearby or are members of the Mancomunidad Chiquitana (Association of Chiquitano Peoples and Communities). I think you'll find this is one of the most updated, detailed, and correct resources for information on the Jesuit Missions of Bolivia. All of the information on these pages comes either from my own travels to the Jesuit Mission towns, from the Mancomunidad Chiquitana, the Chiquitano people themselves, and contributions by others who are considered some of the world's most knowledgeable on the area, all of whom have either lived, worked or traveled to the area extensively. You won't find ANY information copied from ANY other site. It's all first hand information. Still, as time goes by things change so if you find any information in this section is outdated or incorrect, please TELL BELLA!
