You can choose from 29 orchestra and choir concerts and 4 theater presentations over a period of just 5 days, in any one of the following Jesuit mission towns of the Chiquitos region of Bolivia: San Xavier, Concepción, San Ignacio de Velasco, Santa Ana, San Rafael, San José and Roboré, and Santiago de Chiquitos... plus Santa Cruz.

Click here to download the full informational brochure (in Spanish) that lists each of the orchestras, choirs and groups involved, their members, instruments they play, directors, and historical briefs.

This seasonal festival takes place each year and highlights the baroque and renaissance music passed down by Spanish Jesuit priests to the inhabitants of the centuries-old mission towns that are one of the main tourist attractions of Santa Cruz today. It's a fantastic time to spend a few days in Bolivia's ancient and colorful Jesuit Missions.

The Martin Schmid Ensemble, from the Municipality of Concepción “Sanctuary of the Bolivian Orchid”, will open this year's Seasonal Festival with a concert on Thursday, 30 August at 8:30 p.m. in the Jesús Nazareno Cathedral of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Opening concerts will take place the same night in San Xavier, Concepción and San Ignacio de Velasco. Click here to see the locations, dates and times of all concerts and plays. Consider yourself very privileged if you happen to be touring these towns during these 5 days.
