SMORES
by: Chef Noly

Using Maria cookies is a great way to turn the American SMORES treat into a dessert with a more Latin flair. Maria cookies are well known in Bolivia and taste so good with chocolate. In fact, Maria cookies taste so good with chocolate I almost prefer them to graham crackers.

no smores in bolivia

Well Sami, Bolivians don't actually know what smores are. It's not a Bolivian food. However, people often do learn to make foods from other countries when they live overseas, so if there is anyone in Bolivia who does know what smores are, they would most likely make them in exactly the same manner as in the U.S. (cookie, chocolate, marshmallow, cookie).

What would be different about smores made in Bolivia is the we don't have graham crackers anywhere in Bolivia that I know of. So we'd have to use some other kind of cookie. And as you know, there's nothing better than a real, true graham cracker for smores. :-)
