i am looking across the road at the prison as i write this...... yes it is bad to visit (although i would ).... its the police and guards who started the whole thing...... u would never be able to pay money to get into a prison in other countries...... i think the bolivian police and guards have a little respect for there own people and country and stop thinking about money all the time...... all i can say is if you put out a prison tour to tourists you know it will grow like fire on the backpacker circuit...... the bolivian police started it and there is no one else to blame...........
