Freezing Saltenas

by Laura
(Denver, CO US)

I want to know the best way to freeze the saltenas after I make them. What should I wrap them in? Foil? And then how long do I need to cook them once they are frozen? Thank you!

Freezing Salteñas

I've found the best way to freeze salteñas if you have a large freezer is to place them on a cookie sheet, and wrap them in plastic. When you're ready to bake them you just remove the plastic, let them thaw for about 1/2 hour (not totally thawed or the dough will get mushy from the stew inside) and then just pop them into the oven.

If you have a small freezer (like your fridge freezer) place them unwrapped in a tupperware container, cover and freeze.
