15 February 2014, Santa Cruz, Bolivia - Torrential rains and flooding in Bolivia have left over 40 dead and tens of thousands of families homeless. Members of the expatriate community in Bolivia have established a flood relief fund to accept donations via PayPal to aid flood victims. 100% of all funds donated will go to the victims of flooding in Bolivia's northern department of Beni.
The Bolivia Relief Fund is a non-profit grassroots effort to provide immediate assistance to stranded indigenous communities in the Tipnis and Secure regions of Eastern Bolivia. Organizer Klara Nyota is on scene and directing distribution of nearly 30 tons of food and supplies by boat to the communities most affected. This is a simple effort to gather donated funds and distribute them as efficiently as possible, bypassing any form of bureaucracy where feasible.
Please donate to the Bolivia Relief Fund to provide emergency supplies to the flood victims in the Beni Region. Every penny goes to the victims! Those interested in making a donation can visit the Bolivia Relief Fund Facebook Page
and click on the PayPal button to make a donation. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
