Earth food for Earth Day!

by Chef Noly and Bella
(Chicago, Illinois and Santa Cruz, Bolivia)

Chef Noly: In the United States and Bolivia, Earth Day is celebrated each year on April 22. The day is designed to promote awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. Today's recipes focus on food from the Earth. Visit my food blog to view these recipes then click on the "Visit Bella" link to return here to our Wacataya Wednesday page.

Bella: 40 years ago over 20 million Americans took to the streets to demand environmental accountability from governments. 40 years later it's more important than ever. Here in Bolivia we celebrate a lot of international festivals, holidays and special occasions, among them Earth Day. It's a special day to learn about how to care for the planet.

Did you know you can make a difference just by changing one habit at a time? You can start doing your part to protect our earth from further damage, just by committing to make one small change in your life. Share what you'll change here through the BILLION ACTS OF GREEN form on the official Earth Day website where you can see what other actions you can take to make your world a better world.

I also encourage you to sign the Earth Day 2010 Climate Declaration to demand accountability from the US Congress on April 25th. Your signature will be displayed during the April 25th climate rally on the National Mall in Washington D.C. Help us tell U.S. leaders we're serious about demanding clean energy!
