Dried peaches in breakfast food...what is it?

When we were in Santa Cruz, at breakfast one day we were served a dish that had dried peaches. We cannot remember the name of the dish or any other ingredients. It was served warm in a bowl and had the consistency of oatmeal or porridge but I don't believe it had oats in it. Does anyone know what this is called? I'd like to try to duplicate this breakfast and have searched high and low but can't find anything. Gracias!

MOCOCHINCHI

we call them "Mocochinchi", you boil the dried peaches with a little water, sugar and cinnamon; boiling it for about two hours until it thickens (this depends on the number of balls mocochinchi you put on the pot). Also you could prepare a drink by adding water, sugar and ice.

Could it have been quinoa? I've had it with milk & sugar. I imagine it would be yummy with dried fruit in it too.
