How to Apply for Citizenship in Bolivia

Foreigners may apply for Bolivian citizenship only after fulfilling certain requirements and prerequisites, and after having spent a specified amount of time in Bolivia as a resident first. There are four sets of requirements under which one may choose to apply for citizenship in Bolivia. How to obtain citizenship in Bolivia

You can apply for Bolivian citizenship if...

a) You have lived as a legal resident in Bolivia for a minimum of 3 (three) continuous, uninterrupted years.

b) You are married to a Bolivian citizen and have lived as a legal resident in Bolivia for a minimum of 2 (two) continuous, uninterrupted years.

c) You have a child born in Bolivia (even if you and/or your spouse are foreigners), and you have lived as a legal resident of Bolivia for a minimum of 2 (two) continuous, uninterrupted years.
