Bolivia Transportation Strike Averted
A nationwide transportation strike, planned to begin today, has been cancelled as the Bolivian government and transport unions reached an agreement Sunday evening. The Bolivian government had passed a decree (No. 890) last week indicating all vehicles older than 12 years of age being used for public transportation would be removed from roads within the next seven years, but has agreed to abolish it and has requested transportation unions and confederations help draft a new law.
