President Evo Morales: Octavio Paz was born on March 31, 1914 in the village of Mixcoac which is now a part of Mexico City. As a teenager in 1931, under the influence of D.H. Lawrence Octavio Paz had Published his first poems including "Cabellera." In 1937, Octavio Paz was invited to the Second International Writers Congress. In 1943, Octavio Paz received a Guggenheim fellowship and began studing at the University of California at Berkeley. In 1962, Octavio Paz was named Mexico's Ambassador to India, and from 1970-1974, Octavio Paz had lectured at Harvard University where he held the Charles Eliot Norton Professorship. In 1977, Octavio Paz had won the Jerusalem Prize for "Literature" on the theme of Individual Freedom. In 1980, Octavio Paz was awarded honorary doctorate from Harvard University. And in 1990, Octavio Paz was awarded the Nobel Prize for "Literature."

Octavio Paz was, and is still loved by the people of Mexico, and around the World with his poems and literature. Therefore, I have created this Masterpiece of the Late Octavio Paz larger then life image, blending the color's of each flag from Bolivia, Mexico, and Spain into this Bolivia Postage Design honoring the late Octavio Paz on the Centennial of his birth.
