The International Womens Club (IWC) a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting orphanages in Santa Cruz invites you its annual Gala Event, the Black and White. The dinner and dance party will be Friday, August 19th starting at 8:30 PM.
Tickets are 200 bolivianos each or if an organization wants to buy a table of ten (or even better, several tables of 10) the cost is 180 bolivianos per person or 1,800 for the table.
The Black and White is the IWC's primary fund raising event and this year all proceeds will go to Children's Home, Eben Ezer, which is an orphanage for handicapped boys, must of whom were found on the streets abandoned and abused. The club provides support monthly in the form of food, medicines, therapeutic materials and utilities for the children's home.
The IWC has been supporting different orphanages in the Santa Cruz area for more than 35 years. Traditionally, the membership of the IWC was comprised of English-speaking women from various countries. Now, however, we are making it truly more international and many of the members are Spanish speakers. The club?s monthly cultural and social meetings are held both in Spanish and English.
The Black and White is a fun excuse to get all dressed up and have a great time dancing. In addition, to the band, Big Bang, there will be an Arab dancer, a group of students from the arts school, Bellas Artes playing jazz and a typical Bolivian dance group, Tinkus.
The Eben Ezer Children's Home shelters 19 boys aged 9 to 20 who are physically or mentally challenged, abandoned or abused. The home receives no support from the Santa Cruz Prefecture.
Some of the other homes the IWC supports include Eben Ezer, Cristo Viene Niñas, Cristo Viene Niños, Talita Cumi, Nacer, Mi Rancho Ninos, Mi Rancho Jovencitas, Teresa de Los Andes, San Francisco, San Lorenzo and Stansberry Home.
There will be plenty of raffles, paintings to purchase and other items for sale at the Black and White. We hope the community will come out and support the gala fundraising event.
