Aqualand Water Park in Santa Cruz
Aqualand is the largest water park in Bolivia. Located near the Viru Viru Airport in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, it's open from September to May of each year (closed June, July and August - our winter time). During the summer months the tropical heat is sure drive you to it and it's well worth it!
The park has an enormous wave pool with artificial swell, several smaller pools and water game areas, an arcade, snack areas and restaurants, and even a small petting zoo. There is plenty of parking and lots of space to spread out a picnic. It accommodates up to 5000 people per day.
The park gets very full on the hottest days and on weekends and there are often long lines for the water slides. Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, and lots and lots of sunblock because the sun can be absolutely brutal and you'll spend a lot of time getting in and out of the water.
Its main attractions include a huge wave pool (5 million liters of water and 21 programmed wave sequences), a slow river ride, short family rafting area, a Bullet Flume speed slide, a Jetstream speed slide, a series of slides for small children, and a triple Superflume slide, most made by an amusement ride manufacturer from Canada.
There are lifeguards on duty. You can reserve and book birthdays and special occasions here as well, for which prices include food and cake if you choose.
