Aerosur baggage restrictions are as follows: Passengers may board with the following carry-on items, at no extra cost: One handbag or purse. One portfolio for documents. One cosmetic bag. One cape, coat, shawl or jacket. One umbrella or cane. A reasonable quantity of magazines and/or books as in-flight reading material. One baby seat or foldable carriage. Baby food for consumption during the flight. Electronics such as a notebook computer, CD player, walkman, camera, video camera, cell phone, etc. One pair of crutches and/or orthopedic items necessary for passenger to get around. One foldable wheelchair which must be checked as baggage in the baggage compartment during the flight, at no extra cost to the passenger.
Carry-on items must not exceed a total of 1.15 meters (45 inches) around. If carry-on items exceed these measurements they will be ticketed, placed in plastic bags and sent to the aircrafts luggage compartment as checked baggage. Security measures and limitations on carry-on items to USA and Europe Passengers may not transport liquids of any size during the pre-board or inside the plane. This includes beverages, shampoo, tanning lotion, creams, toothpaste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency. However, passengers may carry on breast milk, juice and baby food to be consumed during the flight. Passengers that require medication during the flight, such as insulin, may also carry them on, if they are accompanied by a medical prescription. General recommendations Prior to boarding your carry-on items will be X-rayed at the security booths. Please note that Aerosur does not assume responsibility for items confiscated by airport security. To avoid problems please do not accept packages or any other item if you are unaware of their content and never accept a package from a stranger. If approached please contact airport security. If in doubt, ask Aerosur baggage area personnel at the airport. Do not transport these as cargo, checked baggage or carry-on items: Compressed gas. Corrosive materials. Explosives, ammunition, fireworks. Inflammable liquids or solids. Poisons. Radioactive materials. Magnetized materials. Irritants. Mercury. Liquid hydrogen. Materials that rust.
AeroSur reserves the right to accept or reject the following items: Fragile items Items without packaging Poorly packaged items Items that are deteriorated
Other items Sports equipment Not all sports equipment will be accepted as checked baggage without cost. An additional charge will apply to the following: Surfing equipment that has sails or masts Golfing equipment Fishing and diving equipment Skis and equipment Bicycles with only one seat and no motor. Handlebars and pedals must be folded in.
Musical Instruments In order to accept musical instruments as baggage, Aerosur recommends taking the following measures: They must be contained in the proper carrying case for the instrument They should be labeled FRAGILE A label stating the final destinations should be placed on the instrument case
Passengers must pay for one additional seat on the plane for instruments taken as carry-on items that exceed the aforementioned maximum acceptable dimensions. General recommendations Identify your luggage with your personal information. You will find free luggage tags at AeroSur baggage check-in counters and these should state your name, address and phone number where we might locate you if necessary. Take all valuables as carry-on items. Secure your luggage with locks All claims for damage or loss of luggage must be presented prior to leaving the airport upon arrival at your destination AeroSur is not responsible for minor damage and normal wear and tear to luggage Make your claim to AeroSur baggage area personnel if your luggage does not arrive on the same flight as you do. Avoid extra charges due to excess weight or dimensions by complying with these guidelines.
All claims for luggage not delivered in a timely manner, total loss of luggage, damage to or theft of luggage or contents must be made prior to leaving the baggage claim area of the airport. AeroSur follows the IATA regulations applied to national and international air transport as a general norm for handling luggage.
