Acai berries do have many incredible nutritional qualities and these seem to exceed our expectations with every new study that comes out. They've been a part of the Amazonian diet for thousands of years but have only been studied for just over 5 years by Western scientists.
Many nutritional and health benefits are attrituted to the acai berry and/or the now thousands of acai berry juices, pills and capsules, and weightloss supplements. Acai berries are being marketed aggressively and obviously when there is profit involved it leaves room to wonder if all those studies are true and unbiased.
