Today is May 4! AUTONOMY REFERENDUM Day!

For those of you who are following the news on Bolivia with regard to today's historic PUBLIC REFERENDUM ON AUTONOMY all is well here (it's 10:30 a.m. in Bolivia as I write this).

What is most striking is the TOTAL SILENCE! There is not ONE single car on the streets today (except for media vehicles). Since no vehicles are allowed to drive today, the city is quiet quiet quiet! (Especially for me! Sixteen bus lines drive down my street every day!) Believe me, I am ENJOYING it!

From my 3rd floor apartment I can see over much of the city center (I live about 10 blocks from the city's central plaza downtown) and people are calming making their way (walking) to the voting polls.

So as my great friend Terry always tells me, "Don't get your knickers in a twist!"
